🎓 Co-Curricular Activities

Seminars & Workshops

To ensure professional enrichment and continuous learning, Merit College of Education regularly conducts seminars, guest lectures, and workshops on emerging trends in education. Renowned academicians, researchers, and educationists are invited to share their insights on pedagogy, educational psychology, and classroom innovation. Student-teachers gain exposure to real-world challenges and modern teaching methodologies, enhancing their confidence and communication skills. These programs also provide a platform for students to present papers, participate in discussions, and engage in peer learning, thus fostering an intellectually stimulating atmosphere.

Conferences (State / National / International Levels)

The college actively organizes and participates in State, National, and International conferences in collaboration with universities and educational organizations. These conferences offer opportunities for faculty and student-teachers to publish research papers, present findings, and interact with experts in various domains. The institution takes pride in conducting academic events that promote interdisciplinary dialogue, innovation, and research-based teacher education. Participation in such scholarly gatherings helps students understand educational reforms, global practices, and policy frameworks shaping the future of teaching.

Members actively participate in campus cleaning drives, tree planting, and awareness campaigns on waste management and sustainable living. Every year, the college observes “Green Day” on 5th August, reaffirming its commitment to environmental protection. Through its initiatives, the club encourages student-teachers to incorporate environmental education and green values into their teaching practice.

Cultural Club

The Cultural Club provides a platform for students to showcase their talents in music, dance, drama, and fine arts. It organizes cultural events during Independence Day, Republic Day, Teachers’ Day, and Festivals like Christmas. These programs promote unity in diversity and encourage self-expression, confidence, and teamwork. The club also helps student-teachers understand the importance of integrating art and culture into classroom learning.

Social Club

It organizes Citizenship Training Camps, health awareness programs, and social outreach activities in rural areas. Student-teachers engage in service-oriented projects that develop empathy, leadership, and civic responsibility. Each year, a five-day Citizenship Training Camp is conducted in nearby villages to help students experience social realities and contribute meaningfully to society.

Counseling Committee

The Counseling Committee provides academic, emotional, and psychological guidance to student-teachers. The trained counselors and faculty members help students cope with stress, improve communication, and enhance their learning performance. Through one-on-one counseling and group sessions, the committee ensures that every student feels supported and motivated throughout their course. It also addresses issues related to career choices, personal growth, and adjustment to the teaching profession.

Anti-Ragging Committee

The Anti-Ragging Committee ensures a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited, and the committee actively monitors student conduct both on and off campus. Comprising experienced faculty members, the committee promptly addresses complaints, maintains confidentiality, and promotes awareness through orientation programs. A complaint box is also installed on the premises to receive student grievances. Strict disciplinary action is taken against any violation, reaffirming the college’s zero-tolerance policy toward ragging.
